We are absolutely thrilled to announce our latest acquisition - MEGALOPOLIS, a fascinating film of operatic proportions by legendary director Francis Ford Coppola straight from the Main Competition section of this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The film, which received a ten-minute standing ovation at its official premiere at the festival, will be screened at Film Europe’s Be2Can festival this year, happening October 2 - 9.

Francis Ford Coppola himself, who worked on the film for several decades and eventually financed it himself, really hopes the film will leave a mark on people.
“It’s my dream that Megalopolis will become a New Year’s Eve perennial favourite, with audiences discussing afterwards not their new diets or resolutions not to smoke, but rather the simple question: ‘Is the society in which we live the only one available to us?’”

The film boasts a truly stellar cast including Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Laurence Fishburne and many more.

The historicising futuristic epic MEGALOPOLIS tells the story of the city of New Rome. Conflict is inevitable between Caesar Catilina (Adam Driver), a brilliant architect seeking to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opponent, Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), who remains loyal to a regressive status quo that perpetuates greed, self-interest and partisan warfare. Caught between them is Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), the mayor's daughter, whose love for Caesar has divided her loyalties and motivates her to find out what humanity truly deserves.
